Job Overview:
The Head of the Electromechanical Division is responsible for directing and overseeing all electromechanical activities across large-scale construction projects. This includes the design, execution, supervision, and successful completion of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems. The role requires strategic leadership, operational management, and close coordination with other departments to ensure all systems meet quality, safety, and compliance standards, while projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
• Formulate and implement the division’s strategy in line with the company’s overall vision and objectives
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand the company’s presence in the electromechanical sector
• Supervise the planning, engineering, and delivery of MEP systems across major construction projects
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, quality standards, safety regulations, and deadlines
• Monitor progress, identify risks, and implement corrective actions as needed
• Provide technical guidance and support for electromechanical designs, installations, and maintenance
• Lead, mentor, and manage the electromechanical engineering team
• Oversee recruitment, training, and performance evaluations for division staff.
• Collaborate with other divisions, subcontractors, suppliers, and stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution
• Develop and manage the division’s budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness and financial performance
• Ensure adherence to local and international codes, regulations, and safety standards
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Electromechanical Engineering
• A Master’s degree is preferred
• Minimum 15+ years of experience in electromechanical engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the construction industry
• Strong knowledge of MEP systems and construction practices
• Excellent leadership, organizational, and decision-making skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
• Proficiency in relevant software such as AutoCAD, BIM tools, and project management applications
• Strong understanding of financial management and contract administration
