Job Title: Renewable Energy Engineer
Location: Athens, Greece
Description
The Renewable Energy Engineer will be responsible for supporting the design, implementation, and optimization of sustainable energy solutions. In this role, you will develop and improve energy systems, while researching new technologies and infrastructure for energy storage, actively engaging with emerging trends and marketplace developments in the Greek renewable energy sector to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
• Conduct on-site visits of potential new projects to assess the compatibility of the area (PV, Wind and Storage).
• Follow up the Development and Licensing of new projects, in cooperation with local Developers.
• Identify new energy projects and ways to improve infrastructure.
• Collaborate with external consultants (Technical, Developers etc.), Local Authorities (Municipalities etc.), National Authorities (Energy Authority, Environmental Authority etc.), in order to accelerate the development, management and the construction of RES projects.
• Oversee Developers to assure their performance.
• Work on-site, overseeing construction operations, to identify risk and suggest improvements.
• Monitor the performance of the operating projects, solve issues in collaboration with the O&M contractor(s). Overview their work and efficiency of services.
• Conduct statistical analysis of operating projects’ performance data and proposals for improvement in performance.
• Assess and assure that the HELLENiQ Group HSE policies are being followed by the local staff and various contractors (especially construction and O&M).
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in mechanical, chemical, or electrical engineering or a relevant scientific discipline.
• Minimum 1-3 years of work experience in operation, research, development, or construction of renewable energy projects.
• Knowledge of the Renewable energy regulatory and legislative framework.
• Strong understanding of applications such as GIS, Design software Autocad, Project Management applications, PV design and energy study software (e.g., PVSyst etc).
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
