As Accounting Policy Senior Specialist you will be responsible for the formation and implementation process of accounting policies for the Group, in alignment with local and international regulations and standards. You will possess solid experience in Financial Reporting and Financial Control activities, preferably within the financial industry. What you will be doing • Compose the Accounting Practices Manual and ensure that it is kept up to date, informing the Bank and the Group Companies, respectively. • Recommend amendments to the Group's accounting practices imposed or permitted by the institutional reporting framework (International Accounting Standards Board, European Union, national legislation, etc.), ensuring they are included in the Accounting Practices Manual. • Provide technical accounting assessment and analysis for new business/product offerings, significant transactions, new accounting regulations or legislation changes, in cooperation with the competent Business Areas. • Analyze emerging issues and new accounting regulations, and prepare comment letters to the competent authorities, where applicable. • Assist in developing disclosures for new standards in the financial statements of all Group companies. • Monitor developments in accounting principles and practices, in both the local and international environment, preparing relevant analyses to provide information to relevant Business Areas across the Group. • Collaborate with external auditors to ensure proper compliance with all regulations and propose corrective actions on accounting principles and practices, if needed. What you need to have • A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Accounting or in any other related field of study. • A Master’s degree in any of the abovementioned fields (preferred). • At least seven (7) years of work experience in accounting or in consulting related services, with emphasis in IFRS. • Relevant professional accounting qualifications (e.g., CPA, CMA, ACA, ACCA) will be considered an asset. • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. • Critical thinking and attention to detail. • Advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office applications. • Excellent command of the English language (both written and spoken).
