Job Title: Contract Manager Location: Athens/Greece About AVAX S.A. AVAX S.A. is a leading EPC Contractor based in Athens, Greece, with a strong presence in Europe and the Middle East. We specialize in complex engineering, procurement, and construction projects across various industries, including energy, infrastructure, and industrial sectors. Job Overview: We are looking for an experienced Contracts Manager with an engineering background (civil, mechanical, electrical, etc.) and solid quantity surveying experience to oversee contract administration, claims management, subcontract negotiations, and contractual communications. The ideal candidate will bring 5–10 years of proven experience in contract management within the engineering and construction sectors, particularly on large-scale infrastructure projects, and demonstrate strong command of both Greek and English. A professional qualification such as MRICS or an equivalent certification will be considered a strong asset. The role requires advanced expertise in contract drafting, claim preparation, variation management, and subcontractor coordination. Key Responsibilities: • Manage and oversee contracts in Greek and English, ensuring compliance with legal, project, and client requirements • Assess, prepare, and defend claims, variations, and extensions of time (EOTs) • Draft, review, negotiate, and administer subcontract agreements in both Greek and English • Draft and respond to contractual letters, claims, and communications in both Greek and English • Identify and mitigate contractual risks proactively • Support dispute resolution processes to ensure fair and commercially sound outcomes • Collaborate with internal teams, legal advisors, subcontractors, and clients to ensure contract efficiency Requirements & Qualifications: • Degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, etc.) and member of the Technical Chamber of Greece (TEE) • Postgraduate certifications in Construction Management, Contract Management, or Quantity Surveying are a plus • Relevant postgraduate certifications in Contract, Project of Construction Management or will be highly regarded • 5-10 years of experience in contract management, claims handling, variations, and subcontract administration preferably within large-scale infrastructure projects • Strong understanding of contract law, FIDIC, NEC, or other standard contract forms • Experience with public procurement contracts (N.4412/2016) will be highly regarded • Proven experience in drafting and negotiating contracts, managing claims, and handling variations • Fluency in Greek and English (both written and spoken) • Familiarity with dispute resolution processes and contractual risk management • Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with project and contract management tools Apply today and be part of a dynamic team!
