About the role We are looking for a talented and highly motivated Media Relations Expert (Corporate Communications Expert) to join a team of bright professionals at OTE Group Media Relations, part of OTE Group Corporate Communications and Sustainability Unit, based in Athens. Reporting to the Media Relations Senior Manager, the Media Relations Expert will oversee the tasks of the Corporate Media Relations team. The Media Relations Expert should be curious, self-starter, team player, business-focused, technology enthusiast and enjoy taking on new projects. A strong storyteller with excellent copywriting skills and a digital-first mindset, that finds appealing ways to get the message across to both external and internal audiences, across all media platforms. Should feel comfortable working in a matrix environment, collaboratively with colleagues across the Group. Responsibilities Develop and grow relationships with targeted media/ journalists. Identify and create opportunities to obtain favorable media coverage. Develop & oversee the implementation of publicity plans / proactive communications programmes that promote the company as an industry leader across all communications channels. Ensure wide, positive publicity output and results measurement. Serve as news media contact and spokesperson for targeted media, especially on complex or controversial issues, major incidents or crises. Write and/or edit: press releases, memos, background documents, briefing materials, statements, articles, contributed pieces, speeches, messages/video messages and other communication material. Co-develop presentations, as needed. Create & implement executive visibility/representation programmes. Successfully coordinate PR agency allocated tasks and projects. Competencies & Qualifications At least 8 years of professional experience in media outlets/publishing companies, communication agencies or public relations departments. Previous experience within Telecommunications would be an advantage. Significant experience working with media and managing different communication channels. Excellent written and oral communication skills, in both Greek and English. Professional and technical skills: media relations (including spokesperson experience and crisis communications expertise), excellent copywriting skills, public relations, event management, staff management at relevant level, organization skills, market-focused, MS Office proficiency.
