The Business Strategy, Startups and Partnerships Division, which supports NBG’s Management in shaping and executing strategic plans and initiatives across the Bank and Group is seeking to fill the position of Business Strategy and Planning – Manager. https://career2.successfactors.eu/sfcareer/jobreqcareerpvt?jobId=2831&company=national05&st=9461B6E82D34EEF60022102BFAEC069513A3EE4C Location: 93 Aiolou str., Athens Key responsibilities: • Determine, along with the BSSP Head and Senior NBG Management, the overall partnerships (including Strategic Partnerships) strategy of the NBG Bank and Group, including overall approach, prioritization of key verticals & areas to pursue, organizational setup, and timeline; refine strategy on an ongoing basis as per the NBG needs, priorities, and lessons learned from prior ventures • Continuously monitor the innovation ecosystem in Greece and the wider region of NBG interests (Europe, MENA) • Define the business case, potential upside, and risks of Partnerships and Strategic Partnerships in each prioritized vertical (in close collaboration with the Bank’s Business Units/ respective divisions) • Identify 3rd parties (including large corporates, established businesses, scaleups & startups/ early-stage companies), both in Greece and abroad, that could be assessed and approached for potential partnership ventures/opportunities with NBG via utilizing both NBG-internal and external sources (e.g. companies in whose capital NBG is already invested in, VC/PE funds in which the Bank is an LP, innovation and vertical-specific conferences and events, NBG Business Seeds Annual Innovation and Technology Competition, etc. other sources); define and implement suitable approach and selection process • Collaborate closely with other relevant NBG units in the negotiations and due diligence process regarding the prioritized partnership candidate(s) for each case • Detail and submit partnership initial business case proposals to the NBG Senior Management and Board for approval; define post-approval playbook, key roles among the various NBG/external units, and implementation targets/milestones • Assist setup & operations and monitor implementation of each approved partnership, alongside the respective Bank and Group Units, including setting-up monitoring KPIs/ frameworks, identifying and implementing potential improvements, lessons learned etc. • Set-up and establish the Partnerships Strategy, Development and Monitoring sub-unit within the broader BSSP team, including building up the project team and developing the required data infrastructure, monitoring tools and templates, in line with and extension of existing BSSP practices NBG Team Supervision: Yes Number of NBG team members: 2 Benefits / Challenges: • Significant exposure to NBG and partner companies’ Management & teams • Networking within the wider Greek innovation/ corporate ecosystem • Hard- and soft-skills learning in a fast-paced environment; growth opportunities within / outside of BSSP Job specifications Education: • Bachelor Degree in: Business, Finance, Economics, Science or Engineering • Graduate Studies : Graduate (MSc) studies in Finance, Economics or Business (desired) • Foreign language proficiency : Fluency in English (written and oral); working knowledge of additional languages a plus Previous work experience: • 5+ years’ experience in consulting, financial planning, finance, or investing (incl.
