Agrohellas S.A., a leading company in agricultural innovation and plant breeding, is expanding its R&D program into tree crops and is seeking a Fruit Tree Breeder with experience or specialization in kiwifruit and other perennial species. 📋 Role & Responsibilities - Design and implementation of genetic improvement programs for kiwifruit and related species. - Development and evaluation of new crosses and generations (F1–F8). - Management of experimental plantations and collection of phenotypic data. - Application of molecular tools (e.g., marker-assisted selection) and phenomics technologies (drones, multispectral imaging). - Collaboration with the Fields Department on crop management and support of production trials. - Preparation of scientific reports and documentation for variety protection (UPOV, CPVO). - Participation in national and international research projects and networks. 🎓 Required Qualifications - Degree in Agronomy with specialization in Plant Genetics & Breeding. - MSc or PhD in Fruit Tree Breeding / Genetics / Biotechnology. - ≥3 years of experience in breeding programs for fruit trees or perennial crops. - Knowledge of statistical analysis and relevant software (Genstat / R / BMS). - Excellent command of the English language. - Strong organizational, documentation, and teamwork skills in research environments. 🌱 Desired Qualifications - Experience in genomic selection, bioinformatics, or big data phenotyping. - Understanding of precision horticulture systems and AI-based analysis. -Participation in projects or collaborations with universities or breeding institutions. 💼 What we Offer - Competitive compensation package. - Access to a state-of-the-art research environment and High-Throughput Phenotyping (HTP) technologies. - Career development opportunities towards the position of Lead Breeder – Tree Crops. - Participation in national and European research projects.
