The company Founded in 1993 and celebrating 32 years as a public company, TEN is one of the first and most established public shipping companies in the world. TEN's diversified energy fleet currently consists of 82 vessels, including ten DP2 shuttle tankers, three VLCCs, one scrubber fitted suezmax vessel, two scrubber-fitted MR product tankers and five scrubber-fitted LR1 tankers under construction, consisting of a mix of crude tankers, product tankers and LNG carriers totaling approx. 11 million dwt. TEN together with its affiliated companies provide a wide spectrum of employment opportunities and, thus, is seeking to enhance its dynamic team by recruiting dedicated, high-calibre professionals to join the workforce. Solar Power Engineering Main duties and responsibilities • Design, evaluate, and optimize solar power systems, including PV installations, hybrid systems, battery storage solutions, and power-management configurations. • Conduct feasibility studies for new solar projects, including site assessments, shading analyses, energy yield calculations, and ROI evaluations. • Prepare technical specifications, drawings, and engineering documentation for solar installations in buildings, industrial facilities, and maritime infrastructure. • Monitor and assess system performance, identifying technical issues, energy losses, and opportunities for optimization. • Coordinate with contractors, EPC partners, equipment suppliers, and consultants to ensure quality, safety, and timely project execution. • Review and evaluate equipment, such as PV modules, inverters, mounting structures, wiring systems, and monitoring technologies. • Ensure compliance with relevant environmental standards, and safety protocols. • Support integration of solar technologies into broader sustainability and decarbonization projects, including shore-power systems, hybrid power solutions, and energy-efficiency initiatives. • Oversee commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting of solar installations to ensure operational readiness. • Prepare technical reports and project presentations for management. • Collaborate with finance and legal teams on costing, contracts, procurement, and regulatory requirements. Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering, Mechanical Engineering. • A Master’s degree in Renewable Energy, Power Systems, or Energy Management will be an asset. • At least 2 years of experience in solar engineering, power systems, EPC projects, or renewable energy consulting will be an asset. • Experience with PV design, energy modelling, and project execution is highly advantageous. • Exposure to industrial environments, maritime infrastructure, or large-scale installations will be considered an asset. • Strong knowledge of PV system design, PVsyst, Helioscope, or similar tools. • Familiarity with electrical system design, single-line diagrams, and grid-integration principles. • Understanding of battery storage, hybrid energy systems, and power-management technologies. • Proficiency with AutoCAD, engineering software, and monitoring platforms. • Strong command of MS Office, particularly Excel for energy/economic modelling. • Strong analytical and technical problem-solving skills. • Attention to detail and commitment to high engineering standards. • Ability to work both independently and in cross-functional teams. • Excellent communication and time-management skills. • Proactive mindset, with the ability to drive projects forward. • Excellent command of the English language.
