Job purpose:
Leads and takes the ownership of the specific tasks in a project:
• Technical responsibility of Material Requisitions for mechanical equipment (Pressure Equipment, Machinery, Packages).
• Performs technical bid evaluations of Vendor offers.
• Performs technical review of Vendor drawings and documents.
• Coordination with other disciplines.
Reporting lines and interactions:
Hierarchically reports to: Mechanical Dept. Coordinator Operationally reports to: Lead Mechanical Engineer Directly supervises (operationally): N/A
Key interactions (internally, externally):
Internally: Other discipline engineers, Project Engineers, Designers Externally: Vendors for the items procured, subcontractors
Profile:
• Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (5 years degree, GPA>7).
• 10+ years of prior experience.
• Design / Drafting S/W (AUTOCAD, etc.).
• Excellent knowledge of general S/W (MS Office, Acrobat etc.).
• Be able to work in a team environment and handle multiple Project responsibilities.
• Works well independently.
• Works well under pressure.
• Is keen to learn and professionally grow.
• Good interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate clearly and effectively at all levels within the organization.
• Able to analyze and solve problems.
• Able to make decisions.
• Technical report writing skills.
• Able to develop functional specifications, data sheets and position statements.
• Willing to work on a national and international environment.
• Fluent in Greek (written and spoken).
• Fluent in English (written and spoken).
The following would be considered an advantage:
• Experience in design of pressure vessels, heat exchangers and tanks.
• Experience in rotating equipment (pumps, compressors, turbines).
• Working knowledge of mechanical equipment leading design software (e.g. PV Elite, Tank, COMPRESS, AUTOPIPE Vessel, etc.).
• Working knowledge of international standards, e.g. ASME, ASTM, API, NACE, EN, PED, NFPA etc.
• Experience in design and execution of projects in onshore or offshore Oil and Gas facilities.
Main accountabilities
• Prepares technical specifications for pressure vessels, tanks, machinery and packages.
• Performs engineering calculations for dimensioning and design of pressure vessels and atmospheric storage tanks.
• Prepares equipment mechanical data sheets.
• Coordinates work with other engineering disciplines.
• Prepares equipment requisitions for inquiry.
• Performs technical evaluation, bid conditioning and technical alignment of bids.
• Prepares equipment requisitions for purchase.
• Performs vendor’s documents and drawings review.
• Ensures contractual technical specifications are met - Adheres to the committed man/hours, budget and quality.
• Ensures timely internal and external reporting on engineering / requisitioning activities to the group leader/Mech. Dept. Coordinator.
• Identifies timely technical change orders and claims.
• Interfaces with other discipline specialist engineers and possibly provides project support function.
