Job Title: Senior Instrumentation & Automation Engineer Company: Archipetrol S.A. Location: Koropi, Athens - Greece Job purpose: Leads and takes the ownership of the specific Instrumentation and Control system tasks in a project: 1. Planning and executing Instrumentation engineering design for field instrumentation, control systems (DCS/ESD/SCADA/F&G) and Telecommunication systems. This entails the preparation of basic design, FEED and Detailed design. 2. Perform design calculations in the Instrumentation Department 3. Prepare material take-offs (MTOs). 4. Review and evaluate vendor documentation. 5. Perform 2D and 3D design work. 6. Prepare field instruments and control systems (DCS/ESD/SCADA) Material Requisitions. Reporting lines and interactions: Hierarchically and operationally reports to: Instrumentation & Automation Discipline Head. Key interactions (internally/externally): Internally: Instrumentation Discipline Head, Instrument Engineers Externally: Project Manager, other discipline section heads, project support functions such as Procurement, subcontracting & Planning, Document Controller Job scope: An experienced engineer capable of understanding and executing specific Project Instrumentation and Control system tasks. Capable of assisting in the manhour estimation and scheduling of specific deliverables. Allocating specific tasks to lesser experienced engineers, providing guidance and assistance to ensure the correctness and timely execution of each task. Profile: Must have: • Diploma in Electrical or Chemical Engineering. • Ten (10+) years relevant experience in a similar role related to Oil & Gas Projects and detailed engineering in the field of instrumentation engineering (preferably within a major engineering company in the Oil & Gas sector). • Knowledge of international codes & standards, international design guidelines & recommendations (like ISO, ISA, API, ASTM, ATEX etc). • Knowledge of performing basic sizing calculations and preparation of data sheets for field instruments. • Knowledge of developing and follow-up of Control System (DCS/ESD/SCADA) Architectural Drawings, Instrument Cable Lists & Layouts as well as Instrument Index, Material Requisition for Control Systems (DCS/ESD/SCADA), Telecommunication Systems and field instrumentation. • Ability to liaise with the other engineering disciplines, assisting them during detail engineering. • Experience using relevant instrumentation commercial software applicable to instrumentation engineering (like InstruCalc, SPI etc). • Hands-on experience with AutoCAD. • Be able to work in a team environment and handle multiple project responsibilities. • Willing to work in a national and international environment. • Previous exposure to international environment will be considered an advantage. • Mobility is desirable to participate in working teams at project home offices throughout the countries where EPC projects are executed. • Fluent in English (written and spoken). Nice to have: • Functional Safety Engineer certificate. • Knowledge of using Integrated Safety lifecycle tools (like ExSILentia). • Site experience. Main accountabilities: • Prepares updates and checks calculations for detailed engineering. • Contributes to optimization of material quantities by proposing valued engineering solutions. • Ensures contractual technical specifications are met by the suppliers. • Adheres to the maintenance of the project schedule, company quality standards, all contractual requirements and execution plan. • Executes instrumentation engineering activities and meets quality objectives of the project. • Ensures that the discipline engineering deliverables are compliant with project QHSE plan and discipline engineering processes & standards. • Works towards development and training. • Provides assistance to Instrumentation Department Head in various departmental activities. • As Lead Discipline engineer, when assigned on projects, responsible of managing the team of engineers, delivering the engineering requirements of the project, coordinate with the Project Manager and other discipline lead engineers. Planning and implementing the project in order to ensure that deliverables are issued on schedule and on the allowed budget. • Provides guidance and mentoring to more junior engineering employees. • Assists in the preparation of project proposals.
